The Edinburgh groom has a dream wedding after major surgery for an autoimmune disease

An emotional Edinburgh groom has tied the knot with his sweetheart after life-changing surgery.

Fraser Sutherland, who works in property development, married Hayley Foulds over the weekend – an event that was the icing on the cake after years of pain from an autoimmune disease.

And when the couple found out they’d won our sister title, Daily Record’s ‘Win a Wedding’ competition, after being nominated by Hayley’s mother, Angela, they were over the moon.

Her big day took place at Glasgow’s newest wedding venue, The North Rotunda, in front of 70 of her closest family and friends.

The Edinburgh-born Fraser, who works in property development, said: “My heart was racing when I first saw Hayley, she looked absolutely amazing.

“She took my breath away. The only tears came from my father, Dougie, also known as the silver fox. He’s a big softie.

“Without the surgery we would never have been able to get married because I wouldn’t have been able to get up and say my vows.”
