This Corvette-based supercar has two V8 engines in the rear

If the name Gordon Tronson doesn’t ring your head, don’t worry – he’s not entirely known outside of the tuning scene he occupies. But he’s a rock star in the world of twin-engine hot rods, sports cars, and supercars. He’s made several absolutely crazy creations, including a Ford Model T with two Ford racing engines, a Ford Econoline with four (!) Engines and even a four-engine Harley motorcycle. One of his early projects was a Lamborghini Countach that Tronson built from the ground up using a 1:24 scale model as a guide.

With all of these amazing builds, there’s no denying that this guy is extremely talented and creative. We know a little bit about his newest project, but it’s already becoming an absolute monster. Road and Track brought our attention to Tronson’s new twin-engine supercar, and all we can say is that it doesn’t look nice on the outside but is well worth our attention for many reasons. One of them is that it’s a damn twin engine supercar.

The unnamed creation made its debut outside of Reno last week and is a long, mid-engined supercar with two GM LT4 V8s sitting side by side. According to unofficial information, each engine has been completely rebuilt and now has two superchargers capable of generating 650 horsepower (485 kilowatts) and 640 pound feet (868 newton meters) of torque. That’s the amount of power each of the two V8s produces, which means we’re probably looking at a 1,300-horsepower (969 kW) monster with a projected top speed of around 290-300 mph (467-483 kilometers per hour) . This is of course only theoretical.

Not much else is known at the moment, although the supercar is said to be based on a 2001 Chevrolet Corvette and that can be clearly seen in the shape of the doors and the greenhouse. It is completely custom-made from the rear B-pillar, where the two V8 engines are mounted on a tubular frame. Some of the components are most likely from other production vehicles, such as the headlights which appear to be from an older Hyundai or Lexus model. The taillights just seem like a random aftermarket item, but the quad exhaust arrangement between them is hugely impressive.
