Vin Diesel led Paul Walker’s daughter to the altar at their wedding

Before Fast and the Furious became the franchise it is today, the first movie hit theaters, catapulting us all into a world of explosive action sequences, adrenaline-pumping high-speed car chases and of course the charismatic buoyancy of Paul Walker. The character of Brian O’Conner is a walker who has been fully embodied, and although the films have continued since his tragic death in 2013, it is fair to say that they – and the world of cinema at large – have not been the same since then . To see Fast and the Furious now is to remember Walker’s larger-than-life legacy, and his co-star and friend Vin Diesel knows it all too well. It was a touching moment to see Diesel show Walker’s daughter Meadow through the altar at their wedding.

In an image shared on her social media, Meadow Walker was escorted down the aisle by Diesel as she tied the knot with Louis Thornton-Allan. In a selection of pictures and videos shared on her Instagram, Diesel was featured in a light blue blazer and pants combo while he also wore his branded sunglasses.

It’s hard not to get emotional with images like this that speak volumes about the close friendships and camaraderie that arose on the set of Fast and the Furious. When the series is about cars and speed, it’s about family too, and it seems clear that the stars of the film took it to heart. Fellow Fast and the Furious stars Ludacris, Gal Gadot and Nathalie Emmanuel also quickly expressed their love for Meadow and the pictures taken on their special day, commenting on heart and crying eye emojis on the post.

Last year Diesel revealed that the upcoming 10th installment in the Fast and the Furious franchise will fulfill a promise he made to his late co-star. Diesel explained: “He was always excited that we should continue. He was always so excited and so proud that his brother would think of these films in front of the studio before anyone knew there was another coming and another and that the stories were worked out for him. He was very proud of that. “

According to Diesel, Walker originally asked him how many more sequels they could produce. “The question is, is it seven, eight, nine or seven, eight, nine, ten? And I remember that huge smile on his face like, ‘What ?! That’s impossible!'”

He added, “But we talked later that night and I promised him we would get to that point. It may not mean anything to anyone, but for me personally, that is the promise I made to my brother. Hopefully, if that’s the way it is supposed to be, I want to respect that. “
