Wilson’s Auctions goes green with the installation of electric vehicle chargers

The chargers were installed to support the increasing availability of hybrid and all-electric cars to employees as part of the auction company’s project to reduce its carbon footprint by promoting a greener solution for its corporate car offering.

Peter Johnston, Group Operations Director, commented on the progress of the Wilsons Auctions Green Journey: “In addition to the fact that the company is powered by renewable energy, the installation of electric chargers underscores Wilsons Auctions’ commitment to zero carbon emissions to achieve.

“The transition from gasoline and diesel vehicles to electric vehicles is being driven by senior management at Wilsons Auctions, so providing EV charging infrastructure across the company will further support the fossil fuel transition and promote low-carbon alternatives.”

The installation of the electric vehicle chargers was carried out by Wilson Power and Energy Ltd. Managing Director Andrew Wilson is delighted that Wilsons Auctions has selected his company to drive its “green journey”.

Andrew said: “With Wilsons Auctions employees already moving to fully electric and hybrid vehicles, installing charging units in their stores is the first step for the long-established and prestigious auction group, which spans 18 locations in the UK and Ireland.

“The work was completed on schedule and with detailed planning we were able to ensure that the hammer continued to fall in the auction rooms and that the assembly work did not disrupt business operations.”
