11-year-old girl finds the Loughborough couple’s lost gold wedding ring in the sea

An 11-year-old vacationer dived beneath the waves at a popular surfing beach – and reappeared with a wedding ring on her finger.

Imogen Tite ran her fingers into the sandy seabed as she dived through the waves on Woolacombe Beach in North Devon.

It turned out to be a 9-karat white gold wedding ring with an engraving of ‘James and Rebecca’, a couple from Loughborough, and their wedding day on 10/25/03.

Imogen’s father Andy, a 40-year-old paramedic from Birmingham, said his family was on a camping holiday in Lee Bay, North Devon, last week.

He said, “Imogen was very excited to find treasure in the sea.

“She dived through the waves about three feet into the ocean and ran her fingers through the sand.

“Then she actually showed up with that ring on her finger.”

Andy used social media to find the owners when he got home – and within three hours, the owners were located.

Andy said, “James was bodyboarding at the time. The water was cold and the ring had slipped. He lost it on Tuesday and Imogen found it two days later.”

The ring is now on its way back to the relieved owners.
