In fact, electric vehicles (EVs) are becoming more affordable as the market adapts, but some options are still astoundingly expensive.
Today, most Americans could only dream of owning a slightly over $100,000 electric car. However, as electric vehicles become more popular and mainstream, that price tag is becoming more attainable for the everyday consumer.
Here are four electric cars that cost over $100,000.
1. Mercedes-Benz EQS Sedan ($102,310)

The Mercedes-Benz EQS is a technologically advanced sedan that brings the latest electric vehicle innovation. Available in two different configurations, the EQS 450+ sells for $102,310, and the EQS 580 4MATIC for $125,900.
The EQS 450+ features a 107.8-kWh lithium-ion battery and a single electric motor paired to the rear axle. It produces 329 horsepower and 417 lb-ft of torque with an estimated range of up to 350 miles on a single charge.
The EQS 580 4MATIC features two electric motors, one at each axle. It generates 516 horsepower and 611 lb-ft of torque with a range slightly less than the EQS 450+, at an estimated 340 miles per charge.
According to Mercedes-Benz USA, the EQS 450+ has a fuel efficiency rating of 73 MPGe in combined driving, while the EQS 580 4MATIC is rated at 61 MPGe.

3. Audi e-tron GT ($104,900)
Starting at $104,900, the Audi e-tron GT is of the famous e-tron lineup from the German automaker. It shares the same platform as the Porsche Taycan, featuring a twin-motor all-wheel drive system.
