- Rick Ross showed off some of his classic cars in a recent Instagram video and ran the camera through a series of retro eye candy that featured several Chevy Bel Airs.
- Ross’ passion for cars is well documented in his music, and he recently said his collection includes around 100 vehicles.
- Ross, who named his record label after luxury automobile brand Maybach, also recently visited Jay Leno to film a section on his custom-made 1957 Bel Air.
In 2010, Rick Ross rapped the lines “New Mercedes sedan, the sport of Lex / So many cars, DMV thought it was postal fraud” on Kanye West’s “Devil in a New Dress”. While it’s certainly not uncommon for rappers to brag about owning dozens of luxury cruisers and exotic supercars, Rick Ross wasn’t exaggerating – in a recent Instagram video, the rapper gave a brief tour of some of the old-school metals in his extensive collection.
In the video, Ross strolls the seemingly endless driveway to his 400-acre, 109-room Georgia estate and gives a taste of some of the classic cars he owns. We can see at least 12 vehicles in the video, although Ross apparently has around 100 cars in his name. The video starts with several blue Chevrolet Bel Airs, all second generation models between 1955 and 1957, and ends with a few retro trucks, including a tan and brown Chevrolet C / K from the 1980s with aftermarket LED headlights. Its cars all look in beautiful condition, shimmering under the Georgian sun, and most of them appear to be stock, although some ride on glitzy chrome or gold rims.
Ross is certainly one of the greatest car enthusiasts in hip hop. In addition to his extensive collection and references of cars in his music, he is CEO of Maybach Music Group, a major record label that Ross founded and named after the opulent Mercedes brand. Ross also recently met with Jay Leno, who toured the famous garage before filming a section for Leno’s show about his red 1957 Chevrolet Bel Air. Ross clearly has a penchant for Bel Air as the 57 he shared with Leno isn’t one of the four Bel Airs in his latest Instagram video.
