Apple may have to work on its electric car on its own after failing to find a partner

Some Apple gossip is pure fantasy, but some hearsay has roots in the real world.

The Apple car falls into the latter category, and if a new report from the Korean website mk.co.kr is correct, the company is now planning to shoulder the entire development process of the autonomous and / or electric car on its own.

The latest rumors are that Apple has decided to ditch its plans to partner with an old automaker, which would help cut vehicle development costs and shorten the overall schedule.

The change of heart is bringing Apple back to its original roadmap of doing all research, development and logistics in-house.

The report clarifies that Apple’s talks with several automakers were concluded without a partnership agreement. Sources claim there were no interested parties in the auto industry.

Analysis: a huge undertaking, also for Apple

Because analysts and chair experts alike have tormented themselves over supply chain reports and cryptic leaks from alleged Apple employees to the alleged electric car.

During this time, the speculation of arguments about whether or not an Apple car could ever become a reality has flowed into the current discussion about supply chain issues and logistics.

Developing a new car from scratch is a daunting undertaking even for a company as rich and powerful as Apple.

After Apple devotes the time and money to designing the car, there is manufacturing, safety testing, and a shipload of regulatory hurdles.

However, Apple’s ability to attract and hire the best talent, as well as market and sell its products, will go a long way towards making the car a success.

A recent Bloomberg report suggests that Apple has put wearable boss Kevin Lynch at the helm of “Project Titan” – the internal name for the company’s auto company.

If it’s right, it shows that Apple still takes the automotive space seriously as it put one of its most senior employees in the role. Of course, the company’s $ 200 billion war chest doesn’t diminish its chances of success.
