Autism charity offering a dream wedding to a disappointed northeastern couple

Has covid-19 canceled your special day?

Teesside-based autism charity Daisy Chain, founded by Lesley Hanson in 2003, wants to give a happy couple the wedding of their dreams.

According to Hitched.co.uk, 71% of weddings had to be postponed due to the pandemic, and many couples had to deal with the stress of rearranging or even canceling their special day.

Neeraj Sharma, Managing Director of Daisy Chain said, “After a turbulent year for weddings with many couples forced to cancel or cut their plans, we wanted to help a northeastern couple win a dream day.

“For many people, the rapid price of weddings is simply not affordable.

“This competition gives people the chance to win their dream day and raise important funds for our charity.”

The charity aims to offer the winning couple a complete wedding package worth thousands of pounds, which will be provided by local businesses and will be housed at the Hardwick Hall Hotel.

Coronavirus has dealt a financial blow to couples in the northeast, from layoffs and vacation programs to reduced hours and restrictions on hospitality.

But how do couples get in?

To be eligible for a chance to win, entrants must raise a minimum of £ 500 for the charity, which they can do as they please.

A fundraising package with tips and ideas is available to the participants. Anyone who collects £ 500 will receive a ticket to the raffle.

Participants are encouraged to collect as much as possible. For every £ 500 a ticket will be submitted for the raffle, which will be drawn on Friday 30th April.

“The funds raised will be reinvested in our services here at Daisy Chain to provide much-needed support and advice to people with autism and their families.

“More than ever, we need to find innovative ways to generate income and this was definitely an off-the-shelf idea,” added Neeraj.
