BBs are unwanted gifts outside of the wedding reception: Olmsted Township Police Blotter

OLMSTED CITY, OHIO

Messy Behavior: Jennings Road

Wedding guests at the West Side Irish-American Club contacted an off duty officer working at the event on September 4, informing him that a “wedding crasher” was being ordered to leave. The officer, who had a description of the suspect, went outside to make sure he was out of the property. Outside, the officer did not see the suspect but heard what sounded like a BB gun being shot at cars parked in the parking lot. He confirmed that they were BBs while examining the noises. At one point the officer saw a man with what appeared to be a long rifle on the adjacent property. He went up to the man who was entering a house. The suspect came out unarmed. The officer ordered the man to the ground. He came after. The suspect admitted “shooting trees” but no parked cars. Speaking to the suspect, the officer realized that the suspect was very drunk. The man was arrested and charged with misconduct and attempted assault. He was released to a sober family member.

Harassment: Oakwood Circle

A woman went to the police station at 5:15 pm on September 3 because she was harassing someone she met online. The victim asked the man several times to stop contact with her. She even created a new profile online to dodge the man. However, after continued unsolicited communication, she reported the incident to the police, who then contacted the man. He was advised to refrain from any further contact with the woman. However, the man continued to contact her. An arrest warrant for telecommunications harassment was obtained. He was later arrested without incident.
