Bentley’s first all-electric car, which is an SUV, arrives in 2025

(Pocket-Lint) – Bentley is reportedly set to launch its first all-electric car in 2025.

It is predicted to be an SUV and based on the same ArtWis platform from the VW Group that is being led by Audi.

“With Artemis we’re in the right place at the beginning and help define it. We don’t lead it, but we will benefit from it,” Adrian Hallmark, CEO of Bentley, told Car Magazine.

“We look forward to electrification and will have closer synergies with Audi.”

Bentley presented a plug-in hybrid version of the Bentayga SUV for the first time in 2019. It is not yet known whether the new model will also be part of the Bentayga line or something completely different.

It could be a few more years before we find out.

“2025 is the right time for us,” added Hallmark.

“Battery electric vehicles are perfect for Bentley. Quiet, effortless, with high torque and refined performance.”

It’s likely we’ll see more plug-in hybrids before the brand’s first all-electric car is launched. Car Magazine suggests adding a Flying Spur Hybrid with a Continental GT Hybrid model later this year.

We’ll keep you updated on Bentley’s electric car plans as we learn more. In the meantime, check out our guide to future electric cars.
