Bride whose fiancé tragically died in wedding day car crash last month in Limerick is celebrating a ‘miracle’ pregnancy

A BRIDE whose fiancé tragically died in a horror car crash on the morning of his wedding last month is celebrating a “miracle” pregnancy.

Kate Quilligan was left devastated after her partner, Myles ‘Miley’ Harty, 20, died in a smash on the Askeaton to Rathkeale Road in Limerick on August 21.

But Kate, from Thomondgate in Limerick city, shared news of her “miracle baby” one month on from beloved Miley’s death.

She told friends and family how her late partner “couldn’t leave me on this earth alone” and had “blessed” her from heaven.

She added that the pair had always wanted their own family and that now the “dream is coming true”.

Announcing the pregnancy, she posted: “To say I’m happy is an understatement.

“My Miley couldn’t leave me on this earth alone so he blessed me with our very own miracle baby.

“I cannot wait to get my baby in my hands. You only ever gave me the best and you’re still only blessing me with the best.”

The post, which was filled with heart, crying face, and celebration emojis, continued: “I promise baby I’ll do you proud and do the best I possibly can

“Love you and our miracle baby on the way.

“I’m always going to have a piece of you now my Miley.

“Love you and our prince or princess on the way.”

In another post, she added: “Can’t wait to get to meet our prince or princess. Their daddy is one proud man in heaven.

“All we ever wanted was our own little family and now our dream is coming true.

“Love the two of you so much.”

The post also included a picture of two babygrows which had ‘handpicked for earth by my daddy in heaven’ and ‘I love my daddy Miley in heaven’ emblazoned across them.

ANNIVERSARY TRIBUTE

Kate also shared a touching tribute yesterday, on the one month anniversary of his death.

In a post filled with heart, crying face and breaking heart emojis, she wrote: “One month in heaven today my angel. You broke my heart for the first time ever one month ago when God called you to heaven.

“What I wouldn’t give to spend one last day with you. You were my everything and more.

“I still can’t accept that you’re not coming home to us. Baby, you knew I needed something to get me through the bad days and that’s what you blessed me with – our miracle baby.

“I knew you wouldn’t just leave me so you left me a part of you. I’m so happy that I will be able to hold onto a part of you for the rest of my life.

“We have a love like no other and even death can’t break that. Our love is so strong nothing will break it.

“I love you forever and a day baby. Until we meet again. My brownie you were too good for this earth. God really proves he only takes the best when he took you.”

Alongside the post was a one-minute video containing a collection of photos the loving couple had taken together.

CROAGH PATRICK CLIMB

A number of Myles’ relatives and close friends recently climbed Croagh Patrick in Mayo to celebrate his life and memory.

Myles died instantly when the car he was a front-seat passenger in left the road and hit a pole, at around 1am, at Cragmore, on the morning of his wedding day.

Myles was laid to rest on August 24.

Paying tribute, a devastated Kate posted: “I love you forever and a day, it’s never goodbye just a see you later.

“Can’t wait for a big hug and kiss from you.”

Speaking during the funeral service, Fr Sean O’Longaigh told the young lad’s parents: “Your loss is great, nobody is really meant to bury one of their children, it’s a heart-rendering experience, but (Miley) has a cherished place in your hearts, a place he will never be displaced.

“There’s a numbness, a disbelieve, a grief that follows, and I’m sure there’s the difficulty, even still, of accepting that it has actually happened – it’s more like a bad dream.”

Paying tribute to the 20-year old, Fr O’Longaigh said: “I know that for Miley, his family were very important, especially his mother, and his grandparents.

“As you all know Miley made friends easily and he had many friends, he lit up people’s lives; he loved horses, greyhounds, and hunting with his friends.”

EXTREMELY GENEROUS

Mourners shared a light-hearted chuckle, when the priest joked: “Miley was extremely generous and would share everything – but not, I believe, his kebab, his chips and his coke; there’s a limit to everything.”

An American Steel Casket containing Myles’ remains was driven to the church in a black hearse, behind a sulky, and led by family members who walked with a banner, enshrined with photographs of relatives, and which read “RIP Miley, You Are With Your FamilyNow”.

Mourners, including Kate, wore white t-shirts emblazoned with a photograph of Myles, which read “RIP BOSS”.

A large poster of the deceased and another one of him with his bride were displayed beside his coffin and floral tributes left at the church altar.

His coffin was shouldered out of the church to a waiting white, four-wheeled horse-drawn carriage, to be taken to his final resting place at Reigt Mhuire Cemetery, Askeaton.
