The community has come together to ensure that a man diagnosed with terminal cancer fulfills a wish on wish list to marry his fiancée.
Joel Gray was first diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia T-cell – a rare and aggressive form of cancer – in 2012 when he was just 17 years old, and after years of treatment, he was told twice that he had returned.
He’s hoping to fulfill a range of death wishes and since sharing his story, people have come forward to help the 26-year-old Carlisle man relive the special day he and Jenna Kersey dreamed of.
Almost everything related to the wedding is planned in less than two weeks.
Joel said, “It’s not 100 percent ready – we still need suits, rings and cars.”
But Joel’s future bride is about to try on wedding dresses, his friends continue to raise money to support him in his remaining time, and he is confident that it will be organized on time.
A friend of Joel’s, Joshua Morrison, accepts a 24-hour bike challenge to help.
He said, “I want to do this for Joel and his family, including his fiancée and their family.
“Joel has shown unimaginable bravery and strength in his struggles over the past nine years.

“His unshakable positive attitude towards life, despite everything that has happened to him, only testifies to his character.
“It’s just really inspiring to me.
“I wanted to face the toughest challenge of my life; I teamed up with an amazing lady, Erica Robison, in the hopes that we could raise more money for Joel to fulfill some of his wishes.
“He deserves the world. We love you, Joel. ”
Joel said, “I and Jenna really appreciate this and would like to thank everyone who participated and even just offered us things.
“We love Carlisle so much!
“Jen is going to try on clothes; There is still a lot to do, but we have sorted the venues. ”
