Celtic and Hibs wedding cake as the football-mad Scottish couple put rivalries aside for the big day

A soccer-loving Scottish couple put their soccer rivalries aside for their wedding cake and agreed on a unique decoration for their big day.

Iain and Chantelle Sullivan chose a cake that showed their love for beautiful game.

They also wore Hibernian and Celtic badges as a sign of how much they supported each club.

The couple from Kincardine, Fife got married over the weekend, with the soccer badges not being the only unique aspect of the cake.

One layer had the more traditional look, but with the twist of toy soldiers riddled around it.

In a post about the cake on Sunday, Iain, 41, said: “A big thank you to Laura Louise Conway for such an excellent job on our wedding cake.

“No design was too complex as our cake was not traditional.

“Would highly recommend this woman to anyone looking for high quality, delicious cakes.”

The pictures show the cake which has two unique layers, one of which is a more traditional design and the other shows the unique football design.

The bottom layer shows blue and white flowers blooming across the front of the cake to the center, where blue roses sit on white frosting.

Several small toy soldiers can also be seen on the front of the cake, some of whom are also sitting on top of it.

Four pillars support the second layer, which shows the Celtic and Hibernian FC soccer logos with a soccer field above.

A cherry on top of Chantelle, 25, and her husband Iain can be seen on the pitch as the bride tries to shoot a penalty against her husband, who is on his knees between the goalposts.

The couple got engaged on May 13, 2019 and have waited almost two years to tie the knot.

Iain said, “It was amazing, we had a very small, intimate wedding ceremony in Alloa, Clackmannanshire.

“We wanted something different, I support Celtic and my wife supports Hibs.

“We watch the games together and we are competitive in many ways.”

The bride and groom continued: “We had a garden party with a jacuzzi and a disco dome for our reception.

“The guests were absolutely delighted with the cake because it was completely different.

“Nothing about our wedding was traditional, we wanted things to show up as a couple, so we made things fun and quirky as it is in our personalities.

“There were little soldiers from the army placed around the cake, there were no wedding cars or anything like that.
