Check out the 2021 Wedding and Event Farms Guide for Cheatham, Robertson, Sumner Counties

It is officially summer and therefore also event season.

According to a study by The Knot, more than 70% of all weddings take place between May and October.

Warm weather and closeness to nature are important for many couples when planning their wedding day. It is also important for some companies when planning an event or reception.

For those in need of an outdoor venue, be it for a wedding, corporate event, or even a family reunion, there are several options in Counties Robertson, Sumner, and Cheatham.

Check out these local spaces.

Cheatham

Hay huts

Hayshed Farms calls Kingston Springs home. The hayshed, after which the farm is named, is an early 20th century barn and the focus of most of the events on the farm. With enough space to accommodate more than 100 guests, the Hayshed hosts wedding ceremonies, receptions, and banquets, along with other event space rentals on the farm.

Ashland City Farms

Ashland City Farms’ new event barn is located on the 130 hectare property. Rolling hills, wide meadows, rocky cliffs, a large year-round stream that meanders through the property and a forest backdrop for the farm’s weddings and events. The farm also offers “a la carte” services that allow guests to personalize their ceremony and stay on budget.

Cumberland River Farm

Cumberland River Farm offers views of the Cumberland River, river cliffs and open fields of the Ashland City countryside. A heated and cooled 3,800 square foot barn accommodates more than 180 guests on the property, in addition to 1,900 square feet of covered overhangs on each side with views of the river and fields.

Hidden Creek Farms

Hidden Creek Farms is a family-owned farm that offers wedding packages with a choice of three ceremony and rehearsal locations, including one with alternate bad weather plans, a 3,200-square-foot heated and cooled barn with farmhouse tables and chairs, a groom’s room, and cocktail garden with lawn games and a fireplace.

Robertson

Red River Farms

Red River Farms in Springfield hosts weddings, receptions, class reunions, and other special events on a 75-acre farm. In addition to being a venue for weddings and events, the yard also grows products like corn, pumpkin, potatoes, watermelons, cabbage, and more.

L&L farm

The L & L Farm’s 63 acres are named after the family’s two daughters, Lauren and Lindy. After the court’s first wedding for the eldest daughter, the family opened their doors to the public and invited others to say yes on the property.

The Bottom View Farm spans 400 acres in Portland and offers plenty of space for weddings and outdoor events. The property also offers visitors an on-site restaurant with parking for cars and horses, an ice cream parlor and a small western town.

Second wind farm

Second Wind Farm, a 34-acre horse farm, features a four-acre lake, oak trees, and a brand new barn-feel pavilion.

Old hickory farms

Designed for weddings, conferences, meetings, and other events, Old Hickory Farms offers guests a new 5,280 square foot barn and outdoor venue overlooking Old Hickory Lake.

Long Hollow Gardens & Vineyards

Long Hollow Gardens & Vineyards has several outdoor ceremonies for couples that can comfortably accommodate 200 wedding guests and provide plenty of space to celebrate. And if rain threatens an outdoor ceremony, a 1,800-square-foot all-weather porch houses wedding and event guests with views over the property and hills.

The barn at Spring Lake Farms

Portland’s newly built wedding and event venue, The Barn at Spring Lake Farms, is 14,000 square feet under one heated and cooled roof. Two large open spaces for events, a bridal suite with several rooms and a groom’s room, dinner seating for 225 guests, a separate dance floor and stage, lighting and sound technology for live entertainment or a DJ set-up can also be found on the property.

Drakewood Farm

Forty acres of farmland frame the 1850 Drakewood Farm mansion with two wedding gowns, three barns, a 4,000-square-foot air-conditioned reception room, a groom’s cottage, and several ceremonial venues, including the estate’s wooded ceremony. The historic all-inclusive Goodlettsville venue specializes in weddings, micro-weddings, and elopements.
