Christine House wedding and events venue opens at former car showroom in Rainham

An empty car showroom has been transformed into a wedding and events venue.

Christine House is located at the former Medway Autos center on the A2, just outside Rainham.

Business development manager Emily Lockwood speaks about the new venue

The building has been empty for 13 years and the new venture has been in the pipeline for two years but faced delays because of the pandemic.

The showroom is now a banqueting hall with room for up to 450 guests, alongside a bridal room, kitchen, reception area, bar and lounge.

It is available to hire for wedding receptions and ceremonies, awards nights, conferences and corporate events, while the lounge is serving afternoon teas, and will soon offer brunch and an evening menu to the public.

Wedding packages include a toast master and wedding coordinator, welcome drinks and canapés, a three course meal, bar, DJ and hall decoration.

The venue is named after director Christine Adeosun, who has many years of experience in catering for large events.

Emily Lockwood, business development manager for Christine House, said: “This building has been dormant for 13 years and it’s been a two year project and now we are at completion which is so exciting.

“It reminds me of a venue that you would find in London that has been brought out on to the A2. “The eye for detail and the finish is really high end. The team that owns Christine House are all about the eye for detail.”

Christine House will be working with other local businesses such as wedding planners and caterers, and will even hire out his kitchen when it is not in use for an event.

Emily added: “It is really important for Christine House to benefit the whole community.

“The owners are real advocates of working with local suppliers so it is not just us benefitting from Christine House, it kind of ripples out to the whole community.

“We’ll be working with catering suppliers, party suppliers and drinks suppliers. We are going to keep it as local as we can.”

The lounge and bar opened on April 7 and is available for group bookings such as baby showers.

Emily said: “The Beulah Lounge is going to be great for the local community – offering breakfast, brunch, afternoon teas, evening grills, cocktails – it is going to be a really great place for family and friends to come to.”
