Classic Cars UK: Owners can cut insurance costs by having a second vehicle

They warn that the degree of use is one of the “main reasons” why insurance for classic vehicles is often lower.

Speak with Greg Wilson, spokesman for QuoteZone, Express.co.uk, said owning a second vehicle was a “key requirement” for many traditional insurers, but not a “fixed requirement”.

He said, “Although James Bond obviously uses his car for work every day, an important requirement for most classic car insurance is that the vehicle should not be the owner’s main car.

“The owner should have a primary everyday vehicle that is insured on their behalf. The insurers require this as it is proof that the classic car is not used on a daily basis.
