Announced at a virtual awards ceremony last week, Cumbrian companies have won a handful of top titles thanks to their endless hard work and dedication to their beloved brides and grooms.
The North West Wedding Awards crowned ten worthy winners at the December 3rd ceremony, and Cumbria was sure not to be left out.
And the Cumbria Classic Wedding Cars team couldn’t believe it when they were named the best classic means of transport in the northwest of the country.
“We were overjoyed, a little overwhelmed and absolutely amazed,” said co-owner Sharon Lambert.
We just can’t believe our brides and grooms voted for us and we took the time to actually go through this nomination and submission process.
“It means so much – we’re just in shock!”
Sharon runs the Wigton-based company with her father Edgar Wills. Together, they cover the county and beyond, always striving to please – and clearly succeeding.
The avid winner continued, “It’s been such a depressing year for everyone, and it’s been so difficult for our brides and grooms – some have had to postpone two or three times which is so annoying for them.
“We did our best to accommodate everyone and make sure all of our cars could still be used for their new wedding date, and for the most part it went smoothly, so that was good.
“The year was still very difficult, but this award definitely brightened it up a bit and made it a little easier.”
She added, “A big thank you to all of our brides and grooms who voted for us and come to us for their wedding cars – we appreciate each and every one of them so much.”
And the celebrations for the district didn’t end there. Workingtons Te Amo Bridal also picked up the best title for occasions.
Owner Tracy Watson said: “It feels absolutely fantastic to have won.
“We were unable to attend the virtual ceremony so I was very surprised when I received the email telling us this!
“Especially with everything that’s happening, it really means a lot and it made us smile.”
The enthusiastic winner runs the downtown store with her manager and mother Christine Eland, and the couple couldn’t be more grateful for their support.
“We’re a small, family-run business so we wouldn’t be here without our brides, and it’s amazing to have that support there,” said Tracy.
“We just want to thank you all very much for voting for us and choosing us when it comes to buying a dress!”
