Forget European supercars, this 1964 C2 Corvette Stingray is the icon you want

If you asked someone to name the ultimate American sports car, the C2-generation Chevrolet Corvette Stingray could pop on some people’s minds.

It’s been almost 60 years since the C2 Corvette Stingray first launched and to this day it still looks pretty remarkable. This particular example is looking for a new home in Europe thanks to the Dutch dealership Gallery Aaldering.

This’ Vette immediately stands out for its blue exterior, which was repainted at some point during the life of the car. The paintwork is complemented by the original rims complete with contemporary whitewall tires.

The listing indicates that the previous owner always serviced the car and made a number of upgrades. For example, the front and rear brakes have been upgraded from a single system to a split system. The drum brakes were also replaced by disc brakes, a Borgeson power steering was installed, there is electronic ignition, Edelbrock 5089 cylinder heads with new valves, an Edelbrock rocker arm cover, Edelbrock carburetor and filter, and the automatic transmission was completely overhauled.

Inside is neat black leather that adorns the seats, door panels and the dashboard. The previous owner also outfitted it with upgraded Alpine speakers and an audio system that supports Bluetooth.

Power comes from a 327 cubic inch (5.4 liter) small-block V8 that sends power to the rear wheels. The car has driven 84,041 miles (~ 135,000 km) since leaving the factory in 1964.
