Fire and police were called over to a report on a car that caught fire on the A35 near the Stinsford roundabout at 4:50 p.m. yesterday.
Two equipment carriers attacked the fire and extinguished the fire with hose drum nozzles.
A Dorset & Wiltshire Fire Service spokesman said: “A Dorchester crew was called at 4:50 p.m. yesterday afternoon at 4:50 p.m. about an incident near the Stinsford roundabout in Stinsford involving a vehicle fire involving two self-contained breathing apparatus with hose reel nozzles.
“Unfortunately, the car was completely destroyed. The police also checked the traffic because it was on a main lane. Our stop was at 5:35 pm.”
A Dorset Police Department spokesman said: “The Dorset Police Department received a report from the fire department on Wednesday December 22, 2021 at 4:56 pm of a vehicle fire on the A35 near the public toilets in Stinsford at Dorchester Traffic Control.”
