Four-day “super sports car wedding party with fireworks and loud music” triggers anger

Local residents complained they struggled to get down the street for almost four days (Images: BPM)

A “four-day wedding” with convoys of supercars led to complaints when smoke cannons and roaring music shook the quiet in the early hours of the morning.

The line of £ 150,000 racing cars blocked the road in a built-up area of Telford, Shropshire for four nights in a row, according to local residents.

Pictures and videos taken from the scene of the crime show drivers in Porsches and Lamborghinis cranking loudly while colored smoke cannons are shot down around them.

Several men in suits walk through the expensive convoy of cars while two police officers talk on their radios.

“Angry” residents said they were woken up at 3am by loud music and fireworks.

The large group is believed to have been celebrating a wedding that had previously been canceled due to lockdown restrictions.

Local residents said the celebrations began on Friday, June 25 and continued until the following Monday.

West Mercia police said they are investigating reports of “antisocial behavior and dangerous driving” and that they are being “taken seriously”.

A local resident described how a driver trying to get to the hospital failed to come down the street.

They wrote, “An insane number of cars were parked on roadsides, paths, in bus stops and right on the street. A number of sports models also blocked the road.

“I reported it to the police at the request of one of the older guests. This was very worrying.

“The drivers struggled to get through and the affected guests seemed reluctant to move their cars. A man stuck in traffic was on his way to the hospital. ‘

On Twitter, resident Sam Young wrote of the event: “It was heard all over Telford … those on my street felt like a war zone.”

The Arleston Neighborhood Watch team tweeted, “Absolutely angry that fireworks are still going off at this time of night.

“So many residents had to endure this in the last four nights, that’s not fair at all.

“Wedding or no wedding, this is not a good time to set off fireworks.”

Insp. Mike Phillips of the North Telford Safer Neighborhood Team said: “We received reports of unsocial behavior and dangerous driving in and around Arleston and Leegomery over the weekend.

“We recognize that those responsible have shown very little respect for their neighbors and the wider community. I want to assure the public that all reports of anti-social behavior and dangerous driving will be taken extremely seriously. “

He said officials will contact residents to review dashcam footage to aid their investigation.

Mr. Phillips urged anyone with information to contact you.
