AN HGV’s trail of destruction has been caught on camera after it smashed into 17 cars outside a Premier Inn and the driver has been rushed to hospital.

Shocking footage from 7am yesterday morning reveals the extent of the destruction moments after the crash outside the hotel near the Lakeside shopping center in Doncaster.

It is believed that the driver lost control of his vehicle at a roundabout before hurtling through a hedge and bulldozing into at least 17 parked cars in the car park.

Police told the Sun Online that no guests were injured and the hotel wasn’t damaged.

A South Yorkshire Police spokesman said: ‘Police were called to reports just before 7am of a lorry leaving the road and colliding with stationary vehicles.

‘The lorry driver was taken to hospital, his injuries are not thought to be serious. No other reported injuries.’
