After problems with the vehicle’s eCall SOS function, a total of 965 Kia Sorento models are used for repair work. This tool transmits the vehicle identification number (VIN) of the vehicle to an emergency call center in the event of an accident.
Customers with questions are invited to contact Kia Customer Service for more information.
A statement from Kia said: “Kia is not aware of any injuries or accidents resulting from this problem. 965 cars sold in the UK are affected.
“Kia UK is contacting owners with affected vehicles to schedule an appointment with their nearest Kia dealer so that the eCall feature can be reset and updated.
“All work is carried out in accordance with social distancing measures and at no cost to the owner.
The model can reach 0-62 mph in just 8.7 seconds and is considered a natural rival to the Land Rover Discovery Sport and the Peugeot 5008.
The car is littered with an array of cutting-edge technologies like a 10.25-inch touchscreen and forward collision avoidance assistants.
It uses cameras and radar data from the car to analyze information about cars, pedestrians and cyclists crossing the street.
The tool also helps avoid collisions when turning at an intersection and gives warning signals when there is a possibility of a collision.
