Miller’s celebrate 50th wedding anniversary

Special to The Alliance Review

Richard and Melissa (Missy) Miller of Homeworth celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on April 1, 2022.

The couple were married April 1, 1972.

The Millers are parents of Richard Miller Jr., who is married to Wanda Miller, and Erika Miller. They have three grandchildren, Brittany, Asia and Jai, and two great-grandchildren, Leo and Konner.

Richard Miller is a retired Alliance High School teacher. He taught automotive technology. He has rebuilt and restored old cars for more than 50 years, and is currently involved in Miller Family Racing with his son.

Melissa Miller has worked for Columbia Gas, Alliance Community Hospital and Alliance Women’s Club.

The couple also is actively involved in the community.

Missy has volunteered in numerous projects and organizations, such as serving on the board of Alliance YMCA and her current service as vice president of the Board of Directors of the Greater Alliance Carnation Festival. She also created Alliance Area Sparkle Program.

The Millers’ daughter, Erika, said with a laugh that Richard Miller had “much community involvement as well, however it never touched Missy’s, so no one pays attention.”

The couple celebrated their anniversary on Saturday, May 21, with a surprise party thrown by their children at Aeonian Brewing Company.
