Model E: How to convert a classic bang into an electric car | news

mAtthew Quitter is often told that what he does for a living is sacrilege. He also has a waiting list. For a fee of £ 30,000 or more, the former jingle writer and head of IT can rip the engine out of your classic car and replace it with an electric motor and batteries.

Prince Charles spruced up his eco certifications this week by revealing that his old Aston Martin runs on biofuel made from wine and whey, but Quitter believes electrical conversions are much greener. “It’s still burning,” he says of the prince’s fuel, which is 15 percent gasoline. “It’s still loud and still emitting greenhouse gases and particles.”

Quitter, 44, founded London Electric Cars Under Railway Arches in Vauxhall, South London, in 2017
