Park Hall’s wedding plans spark a heated debate about “hidden” operations

Plans have been submitted to build 14 new cottages in the Grade I listed Park Hall in Bugbrooke.

However, a major change in the “hidden in the documents” operation of the hall has been noticed by some locals.

The building application submitted to West Northamptonshire Council provides for the construction of 14 new houses, 3 residential units and 2 holiday apartments on the site.

The apartments will be divided into open market apartments and social housing.

In addition, the applicants, Mr. and Mrs. Adams, suggest “rich and characterful” remodeling of Hall II, including extensions, remodeling and the possibility of using the hall for weddings.

This sparked a local debate on a Bugbrooke-based Facebook group in which one resident said, “This proposal is of minimal benefit to the village.

“On the contrary, it brings significant nuisance, noise, pollution … as well as more cars entering and exiting the ground on an already busy road.”

Another commentator said, “Why does every small village need more houses, more shops, and bigger buildings? If that’s what you want, go to Birmingham. “

Others disagreed and said, “I honestly see no problem at all. It will bring much needed customers to the local pubs and shops.

“It is unrealistic to expect that nothing will change in the village. It is inevitable that there will be new businesses and developments.”

Another said, “This will only bring more people to our village who will spend more in our shops, pubs and B & Bs etc.

“This is only good for Bugbrooke.”

The consultations on the planning documents have been sent without a word about when a decision will be made.
