Plano wedding cake shop is moving to a new location in 2022

After three years in Ruisseau Village in Plano, Butterfly Cakery is moving to a new location east of the city at 1201 E. Spring Creek Parkway, Suite 100, the former Great Harvest Bread Company location. Owner Brittany Ducray plans to close her current store in January 2022 and reopen at the new address in February.

“Our biggest problem right now is that we’re on the north side of the mall and nobody can find us,” says Ducray. “It was tough for the first year and a half and we kept talking on the phone to tell people how to get here. We just don’t have a good view. But the new place is in front of a Starbucks line and next to a Five Guys, which is always full. “

Focused on wedding cakes, Ducray started her business from home 8 years ago when she was six months pregnant. Combining her sales background with her love of creativity paid off, and she rented a commercial kitchen before setting up shop in 2018.

Butterfly Cakery has several unique cakes available within 24 hours. The designer cake factory also makes elegant tiered wedding cakes, intimate birthday cakes, and cakes that look just like very specific objects, including vintage model cars, a gallon of Blue Bell Ice Cream, or a pair of Air Jordan 1s.

“We have a lot of really talented designers,” says Ducray. “I try to teach everyone to channel their inner selves and they usually find it.”

The cake factory is also a shop that sells cakes in pieces along with other desserts such as cookies, cupcakes, cake balls, and macarons. The new location will have a larger seating area and a terrace.

Butterfly Cakery will close at 3309 N. Central Expressway # 340 in January 2022 and will reopen at 1201 E. Spring Creek Parkway, Suite 100 in February 2022. butterflycakery.com.
