Prince’s Car Collection, Lincoln Zephyr Reflection, 2022 Porsche 911 GT3: The Week in Reverse

We looked at Prince’s car collection, Lincoln previewed the future, and we drove the Porsche 911 GT3 2022. It’s the week in reverse, right here at Motor Authority.

This week marked the fifth anniversary of pop star Prince’s death. When the artist died at the age of 57, his garage contained 18 vehicles. This week we looked at the ones that either stood out or were the most surprising.

The Lincoln Zephyr Reflection was presented at Auto Shanghai 2021. While the gorgeous sedan isn’t coming to the US, its design gives a good indication of where the brand is going in terms of design. Zephyr Reflection shows a preview of a production model for the Chinese market later this year.

The 4-door coupe Mercedes-Benz AMG GT 73 from 2022 was spied on with minimal camouflage. The over 800 hp super hatch will be a plug-in hybrid that will serve as a range topper in the GT 4-door coupé series. Expect it to officially debut later this year.

Cadillac is done with gas-powered cars. The brand’s North American boss Rory Harvey said that every new vehicle the luxury automaker introduces in the future will be electric, and that will start with the Lyriq in 2023.

We drove the Porsche 911 GT3 2022 and found that it was the best 911 so far. The new front suspension did wonders for the car’s power transmission, especially when exiting a curve, and the steering feel is just right.
