Princess Diana’s wedding dress designer was “horrified” when she saw her in the dress

Princess Diana’s wedding dress is still one of the most famous fashion items in history, and even people born years after her gang walk can tell it.

When the 20-year-old bride got out of her car and walked up the steps of St. Paul’s Cathedral, the world was in awe of her statement dress.

The stunning ivory silk taffeta and antique lace dress contained more than 10,000 pearls and a long train.

However, there was one person who was not happy when they saw the dress on the wedding day – the woman who designed it.

Elizabeth Emanuel and her husband spent months creating the royal wedding dress.

During ITV’s invitation to the royal wedding, Elizabeth admitted she was horrified to see how wrinkled Diana’s dress had become.

She said, “We knew it was going to wrinkle a bit, but when I saw her arrive at St. Pauls and we saw the crease, I actually felt weak.

“I was really horrified because there were so many wrinkles.

“It was a lot more than we thought.”

They had done a dress rehearsal, but had used different material, and it wasn’t nearly as bad.

But she now says that, in retrospect, that moment was actually her favorite shot of the princess in the dress, who she compares to a caterpillar emerging from a cocoon and becoming a butterfly.

In addition to the famous dress, David and Elizabeth created a second replacement dress in case the main dress leaked.

David told People, “At the time, we really wanted to make sure the dress came as a surprise.

“We didn’t try Diana. We never discussed it. We wanted to make sure we had something there; it was really for our own comfort.”

Diana has never seen the second dress like this, which was made of the same fabric as the first and also had ruffles around the neck.

There were some big differences between the two, however.

The secret dress was much less elaborate than the original version, missing the antique lace and 10,000 mother-of-pearl sequins, as well as the 25-foot train.

It was also never completed as it was not needed in the end.

Since Diana was 5 feet 10 years old, the same height as Charles, she decided to wear low-heeled shoes on her wedding day so that she was no taller than him.

The stunning shoes were designed by the famous shoemaker Clive Shilton and are made from satin, lace and more than 500 sequins and 100 pearls.

Diana had drawn the letters C and D on the suede soles with a little heart between them.

Although Charles and Diana had only met a few times, they tied the knot on July 29, 1981 in St. Paul’s Cathedral.

They said “I Do” in front of 3,500 invited guests, including the royal family, celebrities and world leaders, and an additional 750 million people around the world watched on television.
