Supercars wild cards will be run at the second event in Sydney

Both teams had three rounds of wildcard programs running this year, with Kurt Kostecki driving for WAU and Thomas Randle for Tickford.

The wildcards were effectively paired at the track, with the former factory rival teams splitting up staff and equipment for the additional entries.

While the first two wildcard rounds, The Bend and Hidden Valley, went as planned, the unexpected three-month season break and subsequent schedule revisions resulted in a change in plans.

Original plans to play in Perth, Kostecki’s home game, were thwarted by the cancellation of this event, the same happened later with Plan B, in which the wildcards were to play at Phillip Island.

The second of the four consecutive SMP events from November 6th to 7th has now been reserved by the WAU for the wildcards, which means that Kostecki and Randle can drive twice under light.

The Bathurst 1000 follows the end of the wildcard programs, in which both drivers should be on the starting grid again.

Randle goes without saying, his place next to James Courtney in Tickford’s # 44 Mustang is already set.

Kostecki’s Bathurst plans have yet to be officially announced, but he is expected to work with his brother Jake Kostecki at Matt Stone Racing for the Great Race.
