Watch: Supercars drive past Arunachal’s highways and leave CM Pema Khandu, Internet user in joy

While luxury sports cars may not excite too many heads in big cities, they have now sent the residents of hilly Arunachal Pradesh into an adorable frenzy. In what could be called an epic “highway thrill,” Prime Minister Pema Khandu shared a breathtaking video of supercars zooming down the state’s high-altitude roads otherwise known for their treacherous terrain.

Boasting the quality of the state’s roads, Khandu used social media to feature several supercars speeding away in the rain on the highway surrounded by rocky mountains while John Denver’s famous song “Rocky Mountain High” plays in the background. The video impressed many online.

“With these beauties rolling on the Damroh-Mariyang Highway, the view becomes much more amazing and magnificent,” wrote Khandu. “We are proud to say that Arunachal can offer itself as one of the best destinations for the supercars,” he said on Facebook.

Previously, he had annoyed his supporters with a video of the supercars, including Ferrari, Aston Martin, Audi, Porsche and Lamborghini, parked on a tarmac in Pasighat, East Siang District.

“This is the first time supercars have landed in Arunachal,” the Prime Minister wrote while sharing the video. He hoped that the drivers would be able to “enjoy the fascinating roads that run alongside breathtaking landscapes”.

Facebook user Lhakpa Tsering keeps internet users up to date by sharing videos of the cars driving on scenic routes.

When the clips went viral, it caused quite a stir online. According to East Mojo, “some of the cars belong to Gautam Singhania, chairman and managing director of The Raymond Ltd, who is said to be on vacation with friends.” The cars will travel 1,000 km east of Arunachal Pradesh past scenic vistas before attending a private event.
