Over the past week, a number of cars have either been unveiled or introduced in the country in the automotive industry. We also have tee times for upcoming models. Here are all of the top four wheeler news that stole the spotlight.

New trim additions

This week, existing models in India were expanded to include a large number of new variants. It started with BMW adding a mid-range SportX Plus to the X5 SUV, which also makes it the cheapest gasoline-powered X5 you can buy. Elsewhere, Kia has given the Carnival MPV a new Rejig variant and introduced a new top limousine plus equipment. The Sedan Plus offers additional rewards such as two 10.1-inch entertainment screens in the rear seats, a 10-way driver’s seat, an electronic parking brake and more.

Last but not least, Tata Motors has given the Safari even more glamor with the introduction of the Gold Edition. Available in 6- and 7-seater layouts, as the name suggests, it gets splashes of gold inside and out. It also gets additional features that have also been trickled down to the standard Safari variants.

Aside from auto launches, there were a number of models that broke cover in the country. MG Motors has completed its fourth offering for India, the Astor, which will come with a range of segment-first features, autonomous driver assistance systems and some gasoline engines. Force Motors launched the 2021 Gurkha, which features classic G-Wagen design elements, a more civilized cabin, and interesting off-road references.

After being spied on and teased, Citroen unveiled its second model for India, the C3. This offering under 4 meters is the automaker’s first model made for India, has a peculiar styling and, with its high ground clearance and SUV-like stance, could accommodate a multitude of models.
