Kate Middleton, Meghan Markle and the Duchess of Cornwall often keep these items in their car for their travels, can you guess what they’re packing?
The royals may live in palaces and mansions, but sometimes they really are no different from everyone else. Like most of us, they want to be prepared at all times, even when they are on the go.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex made sure they were well prepared for their three-day visit to New York in September 2021. Eagle-eyed fans noted that the couple kept a bag of BEEF snacks in the car during the trip in case they got a little hungry.

The New York-based food company produces dried snacks with upcycled whole fruits that help minimize food waste. Harry and Meghan have long been a sustainability advocate, so we’re not surprised that this is reflected in their snack choices.

In January 2020, when the Duke of Sussex Attending meetings at the UK-Africa Investment Summit in Greenwich, we noticed a glass bottle of water in the side compartment of the door as Harry got out of his vehicle.

Since he’s always been deeply committed to the environment, it comes as no surprise to us that he chose a recyclable container.
The Duchess of Cambridge
As a mother of three, she is Duchess of Cambridge knows that when it comes to caring for your children, it is always best to be prepared. In July 2019 she took Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis For a Day at polo where the children cheered on Papa Prince William and Uncle Prince Harry. As always, the energetic mom prepared for the trip and filled the trunk with snacks and drinks.

Kate has filled the trunk with goodies and snacks
Kate was spotted unpacking her children’s goodies and gathering the children around her. While Louis sat on her lap, she offered what looked like everyone’s favorite picnic treat – flapjacks, carrot sticks, pepper slices, cookies, and more. Kate had packed the food in plastic containers, but also prepared another dish in a disposable foil tray. The children had Evian bottles and plastic cups to drink.

In January 2019 the Duchess of Sussex also made sure that she had everything she needed with her during her visit to City University in London. Eagle-eyed watchers spotted Meghan keeping a pack of peppermint smints in her car – undoubtedly to freshen her breath!

And in an excerpt from Finding Freedom, the royal biography of Omid Scobie and Carolyn Durand, the authors noted how Harry and Meghan traveled with “their personal hand sanitizer pumps and DEET-resistant lotion bottles in the seat pockets of their car” during their trip royal visit to Fiji and Tonga in 2018.
Meghan took the extra precautions because she was pregnant with baby Archie at the time, and the two countries are “areas of Zika risk” that can cause serious birth defects if a pregnant woman is exposed to the virus.
It was previously announced that the Duchess of Sussex likes to travel quietly and tingly with Hildon natural mineral water. Hildon Natural Mineral Water received an official royal warrant after supplying water to the royal household for several years. The particularly high standard water brand comes from 50 years of natural filtration through the chalk hills of Test Valley in Hampshire.

Regarding the award of the Royal Warrant, Debbie Jones, Executive Director of the brand said, “The Warrant is a highly valued seal of approval that is awarded after an extremely rigorous audit process. Camilla was pictured getting out of the car, which had a bag of popular sweets in the front seat pocket, as well as a bottle of water and cookies. Mints are considered the perfect confectionery for on the go, especially on long trips.

Kate, Meghan and Camilla are not the only royals who have certain things ready in the car, because the Queen is known to always have a blanket ready for the trip and is often draped over her knees to see her car when traveling. In the summer of 2018, Kate was spotted wearing a fluffy blue blanket while traveling with Her Majesty for a church service at Crathie Church while elegantly dressed in a Catherine Walker coat gown and hat.
