Where Boyzone is now from feuds and brawls to racing cars

It’s rare to go to a party or wedding where you can’t hear Boyzone play and everyone shouting every word on all of the 90s classics.

The predominantly romantic songs of Right Here Waiting, Love Will Save The Day, No matter what and many more fascinated us after the Irish band was founded in 1993.

Few can forget the epic moment when Boyzone danced to fans’ hearts with a ramshackle performance on Ireland’s Late Late Show.

They performed for seven years before taking a hiatus in 2007 and reuniting for another 12 years to create hits, travel the world and be the heartbeat of the nation.

The boys wore dungarees with abs and performed a bizarre dance routine at clubhouses Light My Fire. They rushed and pounded for all they were worth.

The band started in the 90s and heaven became famous

Boyzone was founded in 1993 by X-Factor Judge Louis Walsh and was supposed to be Ireland’s answer to Take That.

But their appeal became global: Ronan Keating, Keith Duffy, Stephen Gately, Mikey Graham and Shane Lynch had sold more than 25 million records worldwide by 2013.

Some of the band have achieved success outside of the band, sharing their troubled times with fans, starting new businesses and families.

Let’s dive into what the band was up to so as not to go on tour.

Ronan Keating

Ronan Keating

Ronan Keating, 44, is best known today for his successful solo career with songs like Life is a Rollercoaster and When You Say Nothing At All.

His solo material has sold over 20 million records worldwide and he has released 10 albums.

Ronan was also a judge on the Australian versions of The X Factor and The Voice.

Then he left the voice to focus on other work commitments and wanted to focus on his family.

Ronan married Yvonne Connolly in April 1998 and the couple had three children – Jack, Marie and Ali – who separated in 2010.

He met his current wife Storm Uechtritz in August 2010 and the couple married five years later – their son Cooper Archer Uechtritz Keating was born on April 26, 2017.

He recently offered condolences to the royal family following the death of the Duke of Edinburgh by sharing a photo of when he had the honor of meeting Prince Phillip.

Shane Lynch

Shane Lynch

Shane, 44, has certainly stayed on our television screens outside of the band life.

While in the band, he was involved in a brawl with Puff Daddy – now called P Diddy. After the MTV European Music Awards, the American rapper apparently tried to hijack Boyzone’s VIP area.

The star has appeared on Celebrity Love Island, the Games, Cirque du Celebrite and Celebrity Big Brother.

He got a two-year judge role on the All Ireland Talent Show – their version of Britain’s Got Talent.

Shane recently opened his own bar

He became quite successful in this field, taking part in the British FT Championship, the British Drift Championship and the European Drift Championship.

If that wasn’t enough, the singer recently opened a bar in Cheshire.

Shane, together with his wife Sheena and boyfriend Nathan Gerhold, redeveloped the former Corks Out wine bar on King Street in Knutsford.

Stephen Gately

After Boyzone announced their split in 1999, Stephen Gately was the first to release solo music, and his debut single New Beginning reached number three in 2000.

In the years leading up to the Boyzone reunification, Stephen stayed firmly in the public eye as he appeared on Absolutley Fabulous and Dancing On Ice, and starred in Joseph and his Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat.

He also wrote a children’s book, The Tree Of Season, published posthumously in 2010 and featuring a foreword by Elton John and David Furnish.

Mikey Graham

Mikey Graham

48-year-old Mikey Graham is a bit out of the spotlight compared to his bandmates.

Its fan base and media attention was mostly in Ireland rather than the UK.

He performed at the Irish Celebrity Apprentice in 2013 and reached the finals of the Irish Eurovision Song Contest Act Show in 2010.

Two years after Stephen appeared on the show, Mikey appeared on Dancing on Ice.

He later thanked the show for their therapy after coming to terms with the loss of Stephen, who had died earlier this year.
