Finally the mega-mer. The SL65 Black Series was the most extreme limited-run model AMG had ever made when it was released in 2009. Although it looked crazy and powerful, the Black was flawed. With over 670 PS (493 kW) from its 6.0-liter twin-turbo V12, all this power had to be brought to the ground via an archaic five-speed automatic transmission for reasons of reliability. Nevertheless, Wolff is close to his heart, as he was the project’s development driver at the Nürburgring in 2008. It is one of only 350 cars that were built at the time.
