£ 10,000 worth of car cannibals raid on Toyota parked in front of the Bordesley Green house

Thugs removed £ 10,000 worth of parts from a “devastated” woman’s car just hours after repairing a previous accident.

Noreen Begum’s 2018 Toyota Yaris license plate was parked near her home in Bordesley Green when so-called “car cannibals” tore off the hood and left the car naked.

Parts such as the fog lights, headlights, the Toyota shield, the hood, and the parking lights have all been removed from the vehicle

Noreen 43, was alerted by neighbors in the early hours of November 6 to check her car after the thieves struck around 3:20 a.m. The car had only been returned from the workshop hours earlier.

She told BirminghamLive, “There was no way I was telling myself. I went out and there it was.

“Before this incident, I was in a car accident and had my vehicle repaired – I didn’t return my car until Friday evening.

“At 3:20 in the morning my phone rang and my heart fell. It was my neighbor who said you have to go out. Someone pulled out your car.”

This year’s BrumWish, the appeal launched in November, resulted in more than 3,300 Christmas gifts being purchased for 1,800 homeless children in the city.

We have secured hundreds of gifts for babies and toddlers, but we missed the target for children six and over.

It all goes through an Amazon wish list – which means you can personally purchase a gift that will be delivered before December 25th.

This year’s campaign is now over. Thank you everyone for your support and contributions.

Noreen added, “Apparently my car wasn’t the only one – another car was stripped of its parts two days ago on a different street. My neighbor’s catalytic converter was also stolen – so auto parts theft is now increasing.

“I have to spend £ 250 of my own entry to pay for the damage not caused by my fault.

“Whoever you are, I want you to understand that this is not acceptable and that there needs to be more awareness.

The damage to the car window after the car part theft

“I remember two years ago there were a lot of chop shops and garages were raided – the police were there. It stopped for a while, but now it’s on the rise again.”

A West Midlands Police spokesman told BirminghamLive: “On November 6, a Toyota Yaris was stolen from a front bumper on Pretoria Road, Bordesley Green.

“We understand the inconvenience of this type of theft and we would like anyone with information to contact us through the live chat website.”
