Lamborghini appears to be preparing a new version of its Huracan, one capable of leaving the pavement behind.
Our spy footage shows a ramping up Huracan, also outfitted with headlights, roof racks and a roof-mounted scoop. There’s even a protective bar-like protective element at the front, designed to brush off larger rocks that the car might hit at high speeds.
Most of these additions are only temporary units. Should they reach production, expect them to be more refined and better integrated into the overall design.

Lamborghini has yet to confirm plans for a ramping Huracan, but the automaker unveiled such a model in 2019 with the Sterrato Concept. Like the tester shown here, the concept featured higher ground clearance, underbody protection, a roof rack and headlights. Interestingly, Lamborghini only filed a trademark for the Sterrato name last fall. It’s Italian for “dirt”.
When could we see a potential Huracan Sterrato? Lamborghini plans to launch four models in 2022 and they will likely be based on the Huracan and Urus lines, as the Aventador reached the end of the road last year with the Aventador LP 780-4 Ultimae (a successor has already been announced at tests sighted). It is possible that a Huracan Sterrato will be among the four new models.
More and more buyers are looking for supercars that they can drive all year round and without fear of major damage through potholes. It’s also why Porsche is reading a raving 911, and we’re sure others will be quick to jump on the trend, especially as supercar sales continue to surge in emerging markets where road conditions aren’t always the best.
