According to the police, a woman had to be cut out of her vehicle by the fire brigade after the collision – fortunately, she was not seriously injured.

A West Midlands Police spokesman told CoventryLive: “This was a two car accident involving a blue Honda and a BMW.
“A woman was trapped in the Honda and the fire department was called to take her out. She was not seriously injured. It happened around 11:40 am.”
The West Midlands Ambulance Service and West Midlands Fire Service have been contacted for further information.
People stuck in cars due to the resulting traffic used social media to warn others to stay away from the incident.
Jessica Clarihew wrote on Twitter: “Accident at Coventry Arena. Avoid the A444 after the M6. Substance on the road, so much to be cleared up.
“No traffic is allowed between Rowley’s green roundabout and the entrance to Coventry Arena. Shop on Jimmy Hill Way. Nobody is allowed to enter the Coventry Arena. “
As a result of the incident, the road was closed for several hours and impaired traffic in the surrounding area.
