A crash on the M4 has resulted in huge queues near Bristol this afternoon (Saturday, February 12).
One lane of the M4 was closed after the collision but has now been reopened and there are still tailbacks remain westbound on the M4 between junction 19 for the M32 and junction 20 for the M5.
Five emergency fire engines were dispatched because of the complexity of the junction where the M5 meets the M4.
The car fire was on the M5 Southbound exit slip road to M4 which remains closed, and there is still queuing traffic.
The delays come as a car is also reportedly on fire on the M5 between junction 15 for the M4 and junction 16 for the A38 Gloucester Road.
Inrix states: “One lane closed and queuing traffic due to accident on M4 Westbound from J19 M32 (Bristol) to J20 M5 J15 (Almondsbury Interchange). All lanes now reopen.”
“Car fire on M5 Southbound from J15 M4 J20 ( Almondsbury Interchange) to J16 A38 Gloucester Road (Aztec West). Traffic is coping well.”
