A man involved in a three-car accident in Oldham “tried to escape the scene but was then found hidden in a trash can by police,” local residents say.
The bang occurred just before noon on Lansdowne Road in Chadderton today (Saturday).
The MEN know that three cars were involved.
A neighbor on the street who only wants to be known as Darren told the MEN that he heard an “almighty screech” from his garden.

He said he then followed a man involved in the crash as he tried to escape from the crime scene.
But the police then found him hidden in a trash can and arrested him, he added.

“I didn’t really see the crash, my mom was round and she saw the crash,” said Darren.
“I was just in the back garden and heard an almighty screeching.
“I ran around and saw the guy who caused the crash just run off.
“The police came and followed the guy, I saw that he ran to some garages that I know.

“I met him face to face in this alley and told him to give it up. You could see that he was hurt.
“He ran around the garages and then just ended up in a trash can.
“The police took him out of the bin and arrested him.”

Lansdowne Road was closed between Middleton Road and Block Lane after the accident.
Pictures showed several police vehicles stationed at the scene.
At least two cars were apparently towed from the scene, both of which were badly damaged in the impact.
In a tweet, TfGM said, “B6190 Lansdowne Road, Chadderton.
“Road closed between Middleton Road and Block Lane
“This is due to a collision in traffic
“Bus connections can be rerouted #TfGMTraffic @gnwbus.”
