Shocking CCTV shows the car tipping and plowing into the wall during a high-speed police chase

Shocking CCTV footage shows the moment when a car drove through an intersection in a residential area and, seconds before hitting a garden wall, narrowly avoided a serious collision with an approaching car.

The intersection where Meldrum Street and Keswick Avenue meet Honeywell Lane turned into a beehive on Sunday evening, August 1st, following the incident.

The footage of the intersection shows a silver vehicle speeding onto the Meldrum Street intersection, ignoring the road markings and crashing straight into the path of an oncoming car shortly after 8:30 p.m.

The vehicle tries to brake to avoid the car but jams the rear passenger tire causing the silver vehicle to spiral out of control as it pulls onto Keswick Avenue.

Keswick Avenue footage shows the car spinning before briefly toppling over on its side before colliding with a garden wall.

Then the car spins again, crashing into a Mercedes parked on the street in front of one of the houses before it comes to a stop on the roof.

A wall was partially torn down in the crash

Seconds after the silver car, a police car comes out of Meldrum Street, follows it onto Keswick Avenue, before it comes to a stop right in front of the scene of the accident.

Neighbors said this patrol car was quickly joined by a number of others, with one estimating about ten patrol cars arrived at the height of the incident.

She said, “Shortly after it happened there were lots of police cars, probably around ten.

“There are always accidents here, just last week two cars crashed along Honeywell.

“I don’t understand how they all got out and weren’t injured, the guy who was driving down the street and cutting them wasn’t going that fast and his airbags went off.

“You are so lucky that there were no people around, there could still be children running around back then, someone could have been seriously injured.”

Another neighbor claims to have seen three people get out of the overturned car.

He also saw the driver of the car that had cut off the silver car get out of the vehicle.

Witnesses saw police officers inspecting both cars and believe they saw police officers remove something from the trunk of the dark car that damaged the silver one.

Both cars were removed from the scene by the police, while the standing Mercedes that was hit remained on the road.
