MORE than 1,000 classic cars will head to Worcestershire this coming weekend when the Rotary Club of Tewkesbury hosts its popular Classic Vehicle Festival.
The event, held on Sunday August 22nd this year, is the Rotary club’s largest annual fundraiser, raising thousands of pounds for national and regional charities.
The event features a spectacular display of over 1,000 classic vehicles, from the beginnings of driving to American classics from the pre-war and post-war era, custom cars, hot rods, supercars, motorcycles and modern classics.
It’s not just cars either. More than 200 classic motorcycles are on display, with all the big brands represented, as well as more than 100 high quality trade stalls selling everything from auto accessories, car stuff and memorabilia.
The Flying Millyard is equipped with a 5.0-liter V-twin engine
The legendary motorcycle manufacturer Allen Millyard returns with the “Flying Millyard”.
The bike resembles a two-wheeled Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, but don’t be fooled, the old-fashioned-looking, homemade bike is equipped with two cylinders from a Pratt and Whitney 1340 Radial and a 5.0-liter V-twin engine, the was developed for an airplane!

And there’s a welcome back for the Bond, Hannis & Osbourne “Nuthing II Fancy” drag racing team.
The car is started at regular intervals throughout the day, which is always a crowd puller.
One of the highlights is guaranteed to be the impressive sight of the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight Spitfire overflight.
There will be a flyby of the iconic Spitfire
The overflight is courtesy of the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight, the RAF’s homage to WWII aviators – so we don’t forget.
Festival organizer Anthony Stockman said: “We are very pleased to have received this flyover as our showgoers can remember the enormous sacrifices we have made in the pursuit of our freedom. For the past several years, the Tewkesbury Rotary Club has been an active contributor to the Royal British Legion, the Royal Naval Association, the War Memorial Repair Fund, and the SSAFA. ”
New for 2021 live music with the wonderful vintage singer Betsy Harmony and the “hot rocking” piano man Jon Clare, who will be blaring classic hits from the 1950s and 60s.
The annual event is a must on the classic car show calendar and a great family outing that raises important funds for a good cause.
By showing off your car or attending our show, you are making a valuable contribution to the event’s select charities, Midlands Air Ambulance, Sue Ryder Leckhampton Court Hospice in Cheltenham and Tewkesbury Foodbank.
The event will take place on the Tewkesbury School pitches and organizers will take all necessary precautions to protect visitors and in full compliance with the then current Covid guidelines of the Government and Public Health of England.
The details of the measures will be announced prior to the event. If the event has to be canceled due to the coronavirus, your tickets are automatically valid for the following year, unless a refund is requested within 30 days of the cancellation of the event.
