Accident on Edinburgh bypass causes delays on A720 after collision with sports car

Motorists in Edinburgh experienced some delays on Sunday afternoon after a traffic collision occurred on the bypass.

The police are currently on site on the A720, the accident taking place near the Calder junction in the west of the city.

On August 22, just before 11:30 a.m., lane one of the two-lane dual carriageway to the west was restricted around vehicles and drivers are advised to be careful when approaching.

Live traffic images of the scene showed that a number of police officers were present at the scene of the accident, with three vehicles appearing to remain in the lane.

In the center of the collision, a small red sports car and a larger black MPV are depicted, with a long traffic jam slowly being guided around the blocked lane.

It is not yet known whether there were injured or injured in the crash.

The crash can be seen on live traffic cameras

Those using the Calder section of the bypass have been told that they will face delays while the scene is cleared.
