Children hospitalized on e-scooter after car accident in Heywood

Two children were injured on an e-scooter in a car accident in Rochdale this afternoon.

Emergency services were called to Pilsworth Road in Heywood shortly before 1 p.m. on Tuesday afternoon (August 24).

A collision between two pedestrians and a car has been reported to Greater Manchester Police.

After arriving at the scene, the two children – both over 10 years old – were rushed to hospital.

The severity of her injuries is not yet known.

“We were called at 12:53 pm to report reports of a collision with a car and two teenage boys on an e-scooter,” a North West Ambulances spokesman told the Manchester Evening News.

“Both patients were treated on site and taken to the hospital.”

A statement from Greater Manchester Police Department added: “Police were called today (Nov.

“The pedestrians – two children over 10 years old – were taken to the hospital.

“There were no arrests.

“The investigation is ongoing.”

Pilsworth Road has been closed between Argyle Street and Bury Street to allow rescue workers to carry out their duties.

This in turn led to the diversion of bus route 163 in both directions.

Passengers are being asked to review their route this afternoon to see if there are any further disruptions.
