The M62 was closed in both directions after a major police incident between junction 34 Selby and junction 35, which merges into the M18.
A police vehicle involved in a car chase has reportedly collided with a highway bridge. Fire brigade, ambulance and police are on duty.
Motorists were trapped in stationary traffic for hours as rescue workers dealt with the police car accident. For vehicles above and below 4.8 meters, two separate detours have been set up to leave the blocked motorway route.
The incident was reported by National Highways Yorkshire at 11:52 p.m. on Friday, September 3.
Our transport partner INRIX reports: “M62 closed in both directions due to accident investigation work between J35 M18 and J34 A19 (Selby / Doncaster).
“All trapped traffic within the closure was released from 7:20 am.”
