The 57-year-old driver dies after a car accident in a house

A motorist died after his car hit the facade of a house.

The 57-year-old man was fatally injured in the accident on a quiet street in Gatley, Stockport.

He was rushed to hospital but later died, according to Greater Manchester Police.

Police released brief details of the crash as part of an appeal for all witnesses to the incident to come forward.

A black Toyota Aygo was involved in the accident, which crashed into a wall on Keswick Avenue in Gatley at 9:30 a.m. today (Monday).

Pictures from the crime scene showed that the front of a building sustained significant damage in the accident.

There are no reports of anyone else being injured.

GMP said the driver’s family had been informed.

In an appeal posted on GMP’s Cheadle and Bramhall Facebook page, Sergeant Matthew Waggett said, “All of our thoughts tonight are with family and friends of the driver who so tragically lost his life this morning has – we’re doing everything in our power to give them the answers they deserve during this incredibly tough time.
