An elderly man died when his car hit a wall.
The 87-year-old man was killed Monday afternoon when his silver Vauxhall Astra hit the stone wall on Hopkin Street in Pontardawe.
The pensioner died at the scene of the crime at around 2:30 p.m. The quiet residential street was closed for some time while rescue workers worked to clear the crime scene.
A spokesman for South Wales Police said officials are asking for information about the fatal crash. They said, “There was a car involved in the accident, a silver Vauxhall Astra, that hit a wall. An 87-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene.
“The road was closed for a while, and thanks go to the community and the drivers for their patience.”
