A120 Coggeshall Road Crash: Woman suffers life-changing injuries after car crashes into tree

A woman was left with life changing injuries after her car crashed into a tree.

Rescue workers rushed onto the A120 on Coggeshall Road in Colchester just before 2:30 p.m. on Friday, August 13 after a collision was reported.

Upon arrival, police and firefighters found that a woman in her thirties was trapped in her car and injured after colliding with a tree in the street.

The emergency services reported that the car had left the lane before it collided with the tree.

The woman was rescued by the crews at 3:38 p.m. and taken to the hospital in a rescue plane. Your injuries are described as “life changing”.

There were several road closures after the accident, with the police blocking access to the streets. The streets were then opened again at around 9 p.m. – about 7 hours after the first incident.

Essex Police are now asking any witnesses or anyone with dashcam footage to report.

An Essex Police Department spokesman said: “We are requesting witnesses or dashcam footage following a collision at Marks Tey.

“We received a call around 2:29 pm on Friday, August 13th after reports of a car colliding with a tree on Coggeshall Road (A120).

“A woman, 30 years old, was rushed to the hospital in an ambulance. Her injuries are described as life-changing.

“There were several road closures and the streets were opened again at around 9 p.m.

“We would like to speak to anyone who was in the area at the time and saw the collision. Anyone with dashcam footage is encouraged to contact us, citing Incident 645, August 13th.”

A spokesman for Essex County Fire and Rescue Services added, “Firefighters rescued a woman from her car after a traffic accident in Marks Tey.

“Upon arrival, the crews reported that a car went off the road and collided with a tree and a woman was trapped in the car.

“Firefighters rescued the woman at 3:38 pm and she was handed over to the emergency services.”
