A5 traffic: man dead in car accident near Luton as road remains closed

A man was pronounced dead at the scene early in the morning after a car accident near Luton.

The police were called on Sunday morning at around 3.40 a.m. after a traffic collision near the Flying Fox circle on the A5, which the rescue services described as serious.

They found a burning car in a field near Heath and Reach, a village on the border between Bedfordshire and Buckinghamshire.

They believe that there could be more victims in the “complex” case.

Police confirmed that a man in the car was pronounced dead at the scene.

A Bedfordshire Police spokesman said: “We suspect there may be more casualties in the vehicle and our specialist officers are working with other emergency services as soon as possible to find out who was involved in a very complex investigation.

“Although no formal identification has taken place, we are working with families who we believe may be related to the incident.

“Road closures have been made in both directions on the A5 from Hockliffe to Great Brickhill, including Woburn Road and Sheep Lane.

“We ask people to avoid speculating in very difficult and complex circumstances. Anyone who has information is asked to contact the police on 101 with the reference operation Loddon. “

The main road between Luton and Milton Keynes will remain closed today (October 10th).
