The M56 was blocked near Manchester Airport this afternoon after a car stuck on its side in an accident.
It happened on the motorway in a westerly direction near the driveway at junction 5.
Pictures from the crime scene showed a car on its side.

Paramedics are on site, but it is unclear whether anyone has been injured.
The Greater Manchester Police (GMP) have been asked for a comment.
While the rescue workers were fighting the incident, two lanes were closed.
“The M56 exit to the west at J5 (Manchester Airport) 2 lanes has been closed due to a collision.
“The traffic officials and the North West Ambulance Service are currently on site.
“Recovery & Maintenance crews are on their way to the area to help.”
The Inrix traffic service announced that traffic had come to a standstill due to the closure of the exit access.
